Shearing plant
Below you can find a basic outline of how we setup the plant.
We use a shearing trailer to help provide a safer and less stressful experience for both the sheep and the shearer. In a barn setting you can kick up a lot of dust leading to coughing sheep. A plant is a clean environment that allows the sheep to only be handled once. Once the sheep runs up into the plant and is sheared it is not messed with by the shearer again. In a barn pen setting the sheep tend to be run around multiple times by the shearer as he catches and drags new sheep to his temporary work station. We are aware that not every farm is capable of running a shearing plant, however we ask that every farm give the chance to try it out and invest in a better health for your animals!
